How Good is LeBron James?

How good is LeBron James? How does the force of nature that is dominating the NBA compare to all-time greats? On Basketball-Reference.com has is a handy tool that calculates the probability that a player will be in the hall of fame if that player retired today. Here are the active players that this tool deems the most likely to be in the hall of fame:
  1. Shaquille O'Neal -100%
  2. Tim Duncan -100%
  3. Kobe Bryant -100%
  4. Kevin Garnett -100%
  5. Allen Iverson -100%
  6. LeBron James - 99.87%
  7. Dirk Nowitzki - 99.73%
This list is interesting for a couple of reasons. First, even though Shaq, Duncan, Kobe, KG and The Answer all have 100% probabilities there is a clear pecking order among themselves. Second, right behind those 5 icons of the game sits LeBron James, who will likely join those players as he adds to his resume with MVPs and championships. Presently LeBron sits at #33 in All-Time Hall of fame probability and sits between Elvin Hayes and Patrick Ewing.
